Petr Kirušha at Dom Art Projects
Born in 1978 in Dushanbe and based in Riga, Petr Kirusha has exhibited internationally, including at Manifesta 10 and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. At Dom Art Projects, he continues his exploration of painting as a meeting point of light, technology, and surface.

Kirusha’s work reconsiders painting through the conditions of the screen. For him, contemporary painting exists in synergy with illumination — with flicker: LED backlight, the red-orange glow of the urban night sky, pixel shifts in low light. He translates this instability into stillness, capturing vibration at the edge of perception.

Working with a post-digital approach to color, he leaves the white of the paper active — like a blank screen — and employs a technique that preserves luminosity in the lower layers of paint.
