We are delighted to announce that Aisha Alhammadi has joined Dom Art Projects as our latest Studio Resident

Aisha Alhammadi
Aisha Alhammadi is an Emirati interdisciplinary artist working across stone carving, photography, film, drawing, and printmaking. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Art History from New York University Abu Dhabi, where she also completed a minor in Film and New Media. Her practice explores the spaces within herself and how she interacts with her surroundings. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries across the UAE, and she is a recipient of the UAE Ministry of Culture National Grant for Culture and Creativity.

Working primarily with marble, she creates sculptural forms that reflect on silence, repetition, and the spiritual dimensions of form. Her early interest in Islamic geometric systems introduced her to ideas of symmetry and sacred order. Over time, her approach to geometry has shifted, treating it as a more open and evolving language rather than a decorative system. It becomes a means of inquiry, where form is shaped through acts of carving and reduction, and where absence plays a central role in what is communicated.

Alhammadi’s practice draws on the rhythms of her environment, including architectural forms, domestic spaces, and spatial memory, which inform the textures and structures that emerge in her work. Through careful attention to material and time, she creates sculptural works that open up spaces for contemplation.
