Open Studio: Teng Miras

Fragments of Life
Teng Miras will open her studio to share the work and experiments developed during her residency at Dom Art Projects.

Fragments of Life explores the things that remain after moments of change, destruction, loss, and transformation. Working intuitively and without a predetermined outcome, Miras has explored fragments connected to natural disasters, conflict, damaged shelters, family, memories, dreams, loss, and survival, considering how ordinary materials can hold stories beyond their physical form.

Through painting, sculpture, cement, paper, bamboo, fabric, stitching, found materials, burning, layering, texture, and light, the artist explores how broken or discarded materials can be transformed and given another life.

A piece of paper can hold a memory.
A piece of cement can hold the idea of home.
A broken surface can hold a scar.
A fragment can hold a dream.

The Open Studio presents an exploration of what is broken, what is remembered, what is transformed, and what continues to live.
