What happens when architecture disappears beneath the surface?
In this lecture, Art group Iced Architects will explore the idea of invisible architecture through underground houses, hidden spaces, and their own architectural and artistic projects.
About:
Iced Architects is a group of architect-artists working in Moscow since 1993. Its current members are Alexei Kononenko, Olga Petrunenko, and Ilya Voznesensky, graduates of the Moscow Architectural Institute. Working at the intersection of art and architecture, the group continues the legacy of the “paper architects” through conceptual projects that respond to specific sites. Its work has been presented internationally, including at the Georgian National Museum in Tbilisi and Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin.
Evgenia Kikodze is an art critic, curator, and art historian based in Italy, and the curator of Matter of Light at Dom Art Projects. She has curated more than 30 exhibitions internationally and held curatorial and leadership positions at institutions including the Museum of Moscow, the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, and Ovcharenko Gallery. From 2013 to 2020, she headed the Modern Moscow Department at the Museum of Moscow, where she curated historical exhibitions including Moscow Thaw: 1956–1968.
