As part of the summer programme, A Summer Adventure with Dom Kids invites young explorers to discover the small botanical wonders around them wherever their holidays take them.
Inspired by the exhibition Time That Grows Slowly, the activity encourages children to observe nature through the eyes of both an artist and a scientist. During their summer adventures, children can collect botanical discoveries and create their own herbarium — a personal collection of plants and memories from the summer.
Children can collect wildflowers, common weeds, fallen leaves, or flowers that have already dropped to the ground, and preserve their discoveries by pressing and drying them according to the instructions provided in the activity guide.
Completed herbariums should be brought back to Dubai for the next stage of the activity.
On Saturday, 19 September, the collected botanical materials will be transformed into a creative keepsake at Dom Art Projects. The final project will remain a surprise until the session, offering children an opportunity to revisit their summer discoveries through a creative process.
